The PU coating fabric is soft and smooth to the touch; the acrylic coating is cheaper, but fabric treated in this way tends to wrinkle, and PVC-coated materials are very thick, heavy, and practically waterproof. With use, the fabric hardens, and the coating layer deteriorates, which means that its impermeability decreases over time. For safe protection against moisture, there are nylon covers.
The weight of the backpack is significant. Cordura material, which is more robust, weighs more than backpack nylon. But there are also substantial differences in weight due to the type of construction used by manufacturers.
